Illwerke Tourismus
Today Illwerke Tourismus is one of the most versatile providers of leisure activities in the region. The offering ranges from various mountain railways over the new Forest Rope Course-Golm and the Alpine-Coaster-Golm of the ski area of Golm to individual catering businesses. The roots of Illwerke Tourismus lie in the power plant of the Voralberg Illwerke. In connection with the realisation of large power plant projects, a large amount of transport equipment was required for the construction in the higher valleys of the Montafon, Paznaun and the Brandnertal. After the completion of the construction project the streets, paths and cable railways that existed back then continued to be required for the ongoing operations of the power plants such as revisions and rectification of errors, but they were also available to tourism as well.
They became important tourist attractions which were also of great importance for the development of the Montafon, Paznaun and the Brandnertal. Through continual investment, which has taken place over the last few years, it has been possible, on the one hand, to develop Golm into a very modern ski area in the winter, and on the other hand, it has been able to provide further tourist attractions in the summer with the Alpine-Coaster-Golm and the Forest Roe Course-Golm.
